The Hathor program offers a well-balanced 11-day journey combining the grandeur of Cairo with the serene beauty of the Nile. Beginning with three nights in Egypt’s vibrant capital, the adventure opens with a deep dive into history and culture. Guests explore the Egyptian Museum, home to countless pharaonic treasures, and the Citadel with the striking Mosque of Mohamed Ali. Time in Cairo also includes the ancient necropolis of Saqqara and the legendary city of Memphis before culminating with the iconic Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. Shopping in Khan El Khalili adds a taste of local life, while optional evening sound-and-light shows provide a magical touch to the city experience.
The journey then shifts south to Luxor, where a seven-night luxury 5*+ Nile cruise begins. Sailing gently between ancient sites, travelers visit the Valley of the Kings, Medinet Habu, and the Colossi of Memnon before passing through the Esna lock. Along the way, the Temple of Horus at Edfu, the unique double sanctuary at Kom Ombo, and Aswan’s Philae Temple highlight the artistic and spiritual devotion of ancient Egypt. The itinerary blends sightseeing with cultural immersion, including a traditional galabia party and an afternoon felucca ride on the Nile. Optional excursions, such as the monumental temples of Abu Simbel or the Temple of Dendera, provide further opportunities for discovery.
Each day offers a balance of exploration and relaxation, with the comfort of full-board accommodation on board the cruise. From the temples of Luxor and Karnak to sailing under Egypt’s starry skies, the journey captures both the timeless monuments and the natural rhythms of the Nile. By the end of the trip, travelers will have experienced the highlights of Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, and everything in between, leaving with a complete impression of Egypt’s enduring legacy.
