The journey continues with stops at famous sites such as the Valley of the Kings, the awe-inspiring Karnak and Luxor Temples, and the beautifully preserved temple complex of Edfu. As you venture deeper along the Nile, the breathtaking sights of Kom Ombo and Aswan await, where the Nile’s power and beauty create an unforgettable backdrop. From Aswan, a flight takes you to the iconic Abu Simbel temples, a testament to Ramses II’s architectural legacy, saved by a remarkable UNESCO rescue project.
Your journey concludes with two full days in Cairo, the capital of Egypt, where you’ll witness the grandiose pyramids of Giza, the timeless Sphinx, and explore the Egyptian Museum, home to the treasures of Tutankhamun. Cairo’s rich Islamic history comes to life as you tour the historic Citadel of Saladin and the bustling souks of Khan El Khalili. Each evening, enjoy dining in authentic settings, creating memories of Egypt’s rich heritage and contemporary culture.
Fly from France to Luxor on a direct flight. Upon arrival, you will be greeted and transferred by our representative to board your cruise ship. Depending on your arrival time, set off for a visit to the Temple of Luxor. Dinner and overnight on board.
After breakfast, visit the Theban Necropolis, featuring the Valley of the Kings, with 62 royal tombs hidden away, including the famed tomb of Tutankhamun. Take photos at the Colossi of Memnon, then visit Medinet Habu, the funerary temple of Ramses III, the second largest archaeological site after Karnak. Enjoy lunch, then explore the East Bank of the Nile, known as the City of the Living, where you'll visit the majestic Temple of Karnak. Continue the journey by sailing to Esna. Dinner and overnight on board.
Breakfast on board, then sail toward Edfu. On arrival, take a carriage ride to the Temple of Edfu, dedicated to the falcon god Horus. Return to the ship for lunch, then cruise onward to Kom Ombo. Visit the unique Ptolemaic Temple, which resembles an acropolis and is dedicated to two gods: Horus, the falcon-headed god of the sun and war, and Sobek, the crocodile god. This temple rises impressively above the Nile. Continue sailing towards Aswan, enjoying an oriental dinner followed by a traditional “Galabeya Party” costume night. Overnight on board.
Cruise towards Aswan as you enjoy breakfast. Upon arrival, visit the sights of Aswan, including the High Dam and the Temple of Philae, known as the "Pearl of Egypt," dedicated to Isis, sister-wife of Osiris and mother of Horus. This temple was once submerged after the construction of the First Aswan Dam and was rescued and relocated to nearby Agilika Island by UNESCO in 1960. Return to the ship for lunch, followed by a relaxing felucca (traditional boat) ride on the Nile, passing by Elephantine Island. Optional sound and light show at Philae Temple in the evening. Dinner and overnight on board.
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for a flight to Abu Simbel. This iconic site is home to two massive rock temples carved by Ramses II. Saved from flooding by an incredible UNESCO project, these temples were moved 210 meters from their original location and raised 65 meters higher. The smaller temple of Hathor was also commissioned by Ramses II for his wife, Nefertari. After the tour, return to the ship for lunch, then transfer to the airport for a flight to Cairo. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Enjoy breakfast, then visit the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, which houses the treasure room of Tutankhamun's tomb. After lunch in the city, tour Islamic Cairo, including the Citadel of Saladin and the Mosque of Muhammad Ali. Free time for shopping in the souks of Khan El Khalili. Optional sound and light show at the Pyramids in the evening. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Breakfast, followed by a visit to the Giza Plateau to see the famous Pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure, guarded by the legendary alabaster Sphinx. After lunch at a local restaurant, depart for Memphis and Saqqara, where you’ll see a vast site of ancient tombs and monuments, including the remarkable step pyramid complex of King Djoser, designed by the vizier and architect Imhotep. Discover the mastabas (tombs) of Mereuka and Ti, decorated with beautiful reliefs showing scenes of daily life. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your return flight to France.
