Wonders of Upper Egypt
Nasser Lake Cruise – 8 Days / 7 Nights
A cruise on Lake Nasser: Visa included.
Flights + transfers + 4 nights cruise on the 5* Nubian Sea (or similar) and 3 nights in Luxor at Sofitel Karak 5* (or similar), full board with the mentioned excursions.
- Day 1: France / Luxor
Flight to Luxor on a special charter. Upon arrival, greeting by our local representative. Transfer to the 5* hotel, check-in, and information meeting with your guide. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
- Day 2: Luxor / Karnak
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, depart by air-conditioned coach for a visit to the Valley of the Kings, the Valley of the Artisans, or the Nobles’ Village, with a photo stop in front of the Colossi of Memnon. Then visit the Temple of Medinet Habu, the funerary temple of Ramses III, which also housed a royal palace. It is the largest archaeological site after Karnak. Lunch. In the afternoon, visit the Luxor Temples. In the evening, optional Sound and Light show at Karnak. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
- Day 3: Luxor / Aswan
Breakfast, then departure by air-conditioned coach to Aswan. Upon arrival, transfer by coach and check-in aboard your cruise boat on Lake Nasser, the Nubian Sea (5* standards) or similar. Lunch, dinner, and overnight on board.
- Day 4: Aswan / Wadi el Seboua
After breakfast, depart for a visit to the Temple of Kalabsha, dedicated to the Nubian god Mandulis (Nubian Horus), and a visit to Beit El Wali (“The House of the Saint”). Lunch on board, then sail to Wadi El Seboua. Dinner and overnight on board.
- Day 5: Wadi el Seboua / Dakka / Amada
After breakfast, visit the Temples of Wadi El Seboua, dedicated to Amun-Ra, and the Temple of Dakka, dedicated to Thoth. Lunch on board and sail towards Amada. Visit Amada, a small but well-preserved temple from the 17th dynasty, the Ed Derr Temple, and the tomb of Pennout. Dinner and overnight on board.
- Day 6: Amada / Kasr Ibrim / Abu Simbel
Breakfast on board, where you will see Kasr Ibrim, an ancient fortress and the only site from ancient Nubia. Continue sailing towards Abu Simbel. Lunch and arrival at Abu Simbel. Visit the temples dedicated to Ramses II and Nefertari. Thanks to the extraordinary UNESCO rescue mission, these two rock-hewn temples were moved 210 meters from their original location and 65 meters higher. The small temple of Hathor was also built by Ramses II for his wife Nefertari. Early evening Sound and Light show at the site (included). Dinner and overnight on board.
- Day 7: Abu Simbel / Aswan / Luxor
After breakfast, transfer to Abu Simbel airport for your flight to Aswan. Free time in the late morning to explore the Aswan markets. Depart by felucca to Dokka Island for lunch in a Nubian restaurant in the middle of the Nile. First-class train transfer to Luxor. Check-in, dinner, and overnight at the hotel.
- Day 8: Luxor / France
After breakfast, transfer to the airport and flight back to France.
Note: For technical reasons, the order of visits may be modified, but the program will remain as planned.
